Scientific-Practical Conference ”Advanced Physical Technologies with the Application of UVS in Monitoring and Modeling of Environmental Factors (TehFizUVS)”, 5th edition, 2024, dedicated to the International Day of Science for Peace and Development
On November 8, 2024, took place the works of the 5th edition of the Scientific-Practical Conference “Advanced Physical Technologies with the Application of UVS in the Monitoring and Modeling of Environmental Factors”, organized by the Scientific Research Laboratory “Environmental Physics and Modeling of Complex Systems” from the Institute of Applied Physics of the Moldova State University.
The event brought together renowned experts in physics, environmental science and advanced technologies, bringing together researchers, professors and students interested in innovations in environmental monitoring. The conference was inaugurated by the “Smart Equipment and Machinery for Agriculture and Environment” Exhibition.
Present at the event, with a word of greeting Vladimir Dolghii, PhD, Vice-Rector for financial-economic activity and international relations of the Moldova State University, highlighted the international and interdisciplinary cooperation within the conference. “The Moldova State University supports and promotes research that brings added value to the academic community and the environment,” said Mr. Dolghii.
Ion Tighineanu, President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, academician, PhD, university professor, emphasized the importance of using advanced technologies and unmanned vehicles (UVS) in the field of environmental research. “The innovative projects presented at this conference contribute essentially to the development of scientific knowledge and to the solution of current ecological problems,” said the academician.
Also during the opening session of the event Dr., Associate Professor Aurel Zanoci, Head of the “Ion Niculță” MSU Archeology Center, emphasized the importance of applying advanced technologies and using drones to monitor climate change. “This conference provides an excellent setting for the exchange of ideas and collaboration between researchers,” said Mr. Zanoci.
The communication in the plenary session of the conference was presented by Luca De Vito, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the University of Benevento, Italy, entitled ”Sensors and Measurement for UAV Safety”. Professor from Italy also spoke about the long-term collaboration between our research groups, which has resulted in the winning of several joint international projects on a competitive basis.
The conference was attended by representatives of the companies in the country that use professional and state-of-the-art unmanned vehicles in their professional activities , such as The Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI), which represents a non-governmental public organization in order to develop the field of innovations in engineering and digital technologies in the Republic of Moldova, especially in the northern region of the country ; Agrodrone Assistance is another leading company specializing in the commercialization of drones and advanced solutions for modern agriculture, and Agricos Tech introduced the AutoPilot Console for intelligent tractor driving. The Company Studioul Sistemelor Agricole (SAS), which offers an innovative approach to operational management in agricultural enterprises, also participated, as well as Euroalun SRL, which presented the robot for the management of herbs in orchards. At the same time, this event was supported by the members of the “Rural Competitiveness and Resilience, USAID” project team, in the person of Mr. Oleg Stiopca and Mr. Roman Palanciuc.
